Paul, This is important stuff. How many politicians actually recognize this for what it is worth? (Knowing your Congressional background...) Why don't right-leaning politicians expose this -- this is easy enough for EVERYONE to understand. Just curious about your thoughts. Great piece. Thanks.
I seldom post on these kinds of sites, but I thought to shout out one of my favorite sites that seems underappreciated to me.
Paul Taylor has become one of my favorite mid-length writers on Substack (where I read 100 stacks). He writes a Substack called Big Picture. He picks topics of broad interest and then slices through them with series of four or five articles that give both depth and breadth. He not only writes his own good prose, but also cites and quotes sources that are more than helpful in building cases and having conversations.
I have learned a great deal from what he has written on a broad number of topics about which I thought I was well informed...but found out there was much to be learned. If you have broad interests and like when someone will delve where you have just dipped, this may very well be a site you will appreciate. I know I do.
Great question. I say "great question" in the sense that I don't have a good answer to it. :) No matter what side of the political spectrum one's on, I would think you would want to accurately describe precisely all the benefits people are already receiving from government programs before demanding more such programs (especially those that will have to be paid for by the next generation) based on misleading statistics on "income inequality."

Dr. K, just wondering (if you get this) if you might consider giving my Substack a "shoutout" on this Substack thread. It's a way to let readers spread the word on Substacks they find interesting: https://open.substack.com/pub/on/p/shoutout-21?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android
